Tony Roko for Soul Fest

January 24th, 2012 — 06:37 pm

Sometimes the cold hard mountains make cold grumpy people (only when they are lacking snow).  Sometimes a drink helps, but I am excited to see people loosen up during the Breckenridge Winter Soul Fest.  We are going to have a rocking band here Saturday 28th to welcome our exclusive Soul Fest artist Tony Roko from Detroit.  Personally, having someone around who can loosen up may be a bit of a shock, but I welcome it as I visit the BAD Art Sale/Silent Auction on Friday [sorry that would have a link but they don't have a website] and then walk around the completed snow sculptures on Saturday.

Please stop by the Teal Art Gallery and personally welcome the visionary artist Tony Roko.

Wedding Photos

August 10th, 2011 — 11:18 am

Laura Dombrowski photographyThis is how Teal Art Gallery photographs.  This was a rehearsal dinner that was here last year, it was beautiful, fun, and easy.  My wonderful friend Michael Sasser found the wedding photos and let me know that they are out there.  Thanks!  Check out this photography by Laura Dombrowski of a Teal Art Gallery event.

Rehearsal Dinner Aug. 6th

August 7th, 2011 — 10:56 am

We had a fantastic rehearsal dinner last week.  It just went so smoothly.  Simple and beautiful decorations really set off the space for this semi-casual meet and greet before the wedding.  Want to host an event here? Look at our Event Page.

Wedding and Reception

January 12th, 2011 — 12:13 pm

This was a beautiful wedding and reception for Flor and Nexus.  I just wanted to share some photos of the space before the wedding.  It was really beautiful and everyone had an excellent time.  They had the wedding at the front and then just transitioned straight into the reception and partied hardy.  Best of wishes for the future.

Two and counting…

January 5th, 2011 — 12:37 pm

Teal is now on its third year of existence.  It is another year to look forward to and, of course, there is more art.  This January we have local artist Dodge Gaskill coming to show us how he does it.  He is going to be creating his art here in the gallery this Saturday from 5:00 – 7:00.  This is just one of several fun excuses to come out and enjoy the Breckenridge Second Saturday Gallery Walk.  It’s free and many galleries are doing live demonstrations. Everyone is welcome.

As time goes by…

December 4th, 2010 — 02:39 pm

Saturday, Dec. 18th beginning at 6:00 pm.

Rarely is someone as attracted to nostalgia as when one is watching Casablanca and the tinny piano is banging out the song one last time.  Nostalgia is full of emotional reflection often tied to objects, photos, songs, and people. These subjects appear in much art and wrenches the heart strings as if saying, “play it again, Sam.”  This show is a challenge for talented artists to tie together all that is old and nostalgic, to capture our hearts, but at the same time create something modern that we have never before seen.  Don’t miss out on what is going to be a fabulous show.  Featuring some amazing artists who have created pieces specifically for this show.

Second Saturday – Dec. 2010

December 3rd, 2010 — 02:29 am

Every Second Saturday, a crowd of people flows through the streets of Breckenridge.  Usually there are familiar facea and new ones.  This time, the new face will be on the gallery side as Soleil Sadler is gracious enough to host Second Saturday.  I hope that you will all come and say ‘hello’.  What is more exciting than my gorgeous sister hosting?  The Breckenridge  Public Art Commission is having an art show!

At the Breckenridge Theatre Gallery, my own artwork will actually be on display, as will the artwork of the other commissioners.  I would urge you not to miss this event as it is the people who decide the public artwork that is on display here in Breckenridge.  Coincidentally, the public artworks are noted on the Second Saturday Gallery Map.  I hope that everyone has fun, and I shall see you in January to confirm that it is.

Teal’s Virtual Facelift

August 12th, 2010 — 09:20 am

Welcome to the overview of Teal Art Gallery’s virtual facelift.  You may have noticed that the “Artist” page is easier to navigate.  There is something about hosting events here, and the there is a fabulous new background.  As usual, I can’t do any of these things without Ira, Thank you.

So just to elaborate a bit on what is new, you can check out weekly or bi-weekly blurbs about what is going on with Teal.  This is a cool little widget that shows up on the home page.  For example, Second Saturday is this weekend, don’t miss it!  Very exciting.

Did you know that if you click on the Teal Art Gallery Logo, it re-directs you to the Home Page?

This is actually the case for most websites incase you didn’t know.

What happens when you subscribe to the Blog?

This seems like it would be really simple, but many people I have talked to aren’t really sure.  People who subscribe to many blogs might have a Blog Reader (kind of a personalized newspaper).  An easy example of a blog reader is Google Reader.  You can subscribe to your favorite writers, newspapers, experts, or anything else.  The RSS button that usually looks like a dot with two curved radio waves coming out.rss button  This is a very fun feature to read about everything you are interested in.

Definitely something you need to check out is the new Artist Page layout.  Very informative.  If you click on the thumbnails (little pictures) , it shows you almost all of the art I have for each of the artists.  Before, it only showed a sample.  Also, if you click on the next thumbnail, you are brought to a gorgeous slideshow.

I hope that you enjoy this new look.
